An Inspired School

Your child's inspiring journey starts here!

At King’s Infant School Chamartín, our personalised and experiential approach to education is designed to tailor for every child’s distinct character and needs.

Children love to learn, and we offer every child the opportunity to develop their own talents and skills in a nurturing and fun environment. During these formative years, we provide them with the tools they require in order to secure a solid foundation in which to build on excellent academic performance.

We are committed to having a real family-like feel at our school, so make sure to read the admissions information below and contact us if you are interested, you want to visit us or have any doubts!

Our policy throughout the admissions process is to allocate the appropriate placement for the candidate so that he/she may benefit fully from the education we offer. King’s College is an authorised centre in the “Comunidad de Madrid” and therefore parents who have confirmed a place for their child can apply for the means tested “Beca Guardería” from the “Comunidad de Madrid” for both Pre-Pre-Nursery and Pre-Nursery years. Please see the following link for more information.

The procedure for admission to the school varies according to the age of the candidate:

Early Years (18 months old – 3 years old)

Pupils entering our Pre-Nursery class are children who have their second birthday before 31st December of the year of entry. Pupils applying for entry to Pre-Nursery are required to come to visit the school with their parents.

Pupils applying for entry to the Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) are required to come to the first visit with their parents and to bring past school reports (if applicable). Children applying for Nursery and Reception places are not required to have any prior knowledge of English.

For entry into Year 1 and Year 2, pupils are assessed by the Head of Primary. For entry into Year 3, children will take tests in Non Verbal Reasoning, Maths and Writing. Applicants for both year groups will be asked to provide past school reports. At this age they will be expected to know how to read and write in English.

Junior Department (age 7 to 11)

New pupils applying for entry to the school for KS2 take entrance tests in Mathematics, Reading, Writing and Non Verbal Reasoning. Parents will be asked to provide past school reports for the previous two academic years. At this age they will be expected to know how to read and write in English.
